EU packaging declarations, from your order data

Germany: LUCID registration and packaging declarations from your Shopify data

Germany's packaging law (VerpackG, now operating under the EU's PPWR framework) requires any seller shipping packaged goods to German customers to do three things before the first parcel ships:

  1. Register in LUCID, the public register run by the Zentrale Stelle Verpackungsregister. Registration is free, personal to your company, and public. Marketplaces check it.
  2. Contract a dual system (e.g. Der Grüne Punkt, Interzero) which takes over the collection and recycling obligation for your declared volumes.
  3. Report volumes twice: the same material weights go to your dual system and into LUCID. The register cross-checks the two, which is how mismatches get flagged.

What the declaration asks for

Weights per material group (Papier/Pappe/Karton, Kunststoffe, Glas, Aluminium, Eisenmetalle, Verbunde) for the packaging you placed on the German market: an initial planned volume, then the year-end actual.

Getting the numbers out of Shopify

Shopify records destinations and items, not packaging. PPWR Compliance.com bridges that gap: upload your order export, describe your parcel types once (a 35 g envelope, a 150 g box...), and it aggregates every German shipment into exactly the material buckets LUCID and your dual system ask for.
